Tuesday

Tuesday was a long day
It was raining...out of the sky and out of Adelle's nose
Poor girl
She is cutting like 6 teeth right now, plus she caught a cold
No fun
We made a fort
had popcorn
watched a movie
read lots of books
drew lots of pictures
made puppets
had a puppet show
napped, but not for long enough
Braxton made his own pb & j sandwich
he ate the whole thing
We ate together
at their little tiny table
We played make believe
Braxton was a bear
Adelle was a lion
We danced
We survived
My creative juices worked overtime!

Monday...

The project

The audience

The happy mom

The Basketball player

The barefoot snack snatcher

Why do Monday's always get such a bad rap? Personally, I really like Mondays. Monday means we are back on a schedule and a new week awaits us. We have a routine (I'm really into routines). Plus, it is right after Sunday and after I've been to church I have this renewed desire to be a better person and live a better life.
Yesterdays Monday was especially fabulous. It was a beautiful day, which is always a really good start. The kids woke up happy and ready for the day. They both napped at the same time and I was able to get out and weed the front flower beds. This has been on my "to do" list for a while. I still can't believe it's February, it really feels like spring. Emmett got to come too because he was not tired at the time. He wore his little ducky jumper in spirit of Spring.
When Braxton woke up he came right out to spectate. He couldn't help me work because he wasn't wearing his work clothes (so Braxton, he has different outfits for everything he does). Right now he is a basketball player for team USA.....GO OLYMPICS. He could however keep me company and take pictures. He's very good at both. Plus he taught me something today that he learned at preschool. Did you know that lady bugs are different colors? I always thought they were red, right? Apparently they are white and yellow too. Fascinating.
Then Adelle woke up and came out barefoot. This girl loves to have her toes in the dirt. This is when my project basically stopped. This girl is so on the move that as soon as I turned back to the beds she would run into the garage, around the corner....making me a nervous mom and unable to really get anything done. So, we had snacks instead...outside, in the sun, all together. It was a really good day. Anything but manic!

Lunch Date?

Jeff invited the kids and I out to his job site for lunch today. We were so excited we all had to wear our IMCO get-up. (all of our hats are IMCO and Emmett has an IMCO shirt).
When Emmett was born IMCO gave him a baby tee. Braxton was very jealous that he didn't have one so Jeff brought the kids home IMCO hats. When Jeff asked Braxton what he wanted to get me for my birthday Braxton said, "a IMCO hat" so mine was my birthday present.
Emmett hard at work. One month old!

This made me laugh....

This made me laugh so hard I really started to cry

The kids are outside playing last week while I was feeding Emmett. When I peeked out the back door to check on them this is what I see. Braxton (the ghost) chasing Adelle around the yard. They were both laughing and having fun so I grabbed the camera....just in time to catch this. The blind ghost ran into the garden box and fell face first into the garden. Look who's laughing now. This was so funny. So candid. So perfect. I love Adelle, trying to figure out what just happened.

My life would not be the same if I hadn't gotten up when I did and witnessed this experience. I love laughing at these innocent entertainers.

Dear Valentine

Dear Jeff,
Happy Valentines Day. I've missed you, come home soon! Thank you for being my Valentine for yet another year. I know you aren't a huge fan of this holiday. Your reasoning being, "I love you every day, why does there have to be one day that I'm supposed to impress you?" It makes sense, really, and you are the greatest husband every day of the year! Thank you for being my perfect partner and my best friend. My heart belongs to you:) I love you.
Dear Braxton,
Happy Valentines Day. I was glad that you and I could have special time tonight after Adelle and Emmett were in bed. It was really nice that you told me that Adelle was your best friend. That made me so happy. You are the best big brother any girl or boy could ever ask for. Thank you for being so kind. Thank you for reading to Adelle and Emmett when mommy is busy. Thank you for sleeping with me when daddy was gone. You continue to impress me with your thoughtfulness. I love you.

Dear Adelle,
Happy Valentines Day. Thank you for being such a good big sister to Emmett. I know it has been an adjustment but you are so good to "baby Emmett" and I am thankful that you have been so understanding. Thank you for letting me rock you to sleep last night. I think we both needed that. You aren't one to want to be rocked but I loved every minute of it. I'm glad we got to paint nails last week. You are getting so big to sit there, fingers spread, and let it dry. I'm glad you are still my baby girl. I love you.
Dear Emmett,
Happy Valentines Day. You are already three weeks old. I can't believe it. You are such a sweet boy. I look at you and marvel that not long ago you were in my tummy. You look at me with this face that says, "I love you mom, take care of me." I promise I will. You are so innocent. You are the perfect edition to our family. Thank you for being so flexible. You are so good to have brother and sister hold you and pet you and accidentally kick you. They love you. We all love you. Thank you for cuddling me and breathing in my ear. It is such a peaceful sound. You are here. You are healthy. I love you.

Another year....another baby!

27!
28!

So my birthday was Friday! The big 28! It was a great day, I still love my birthday...always have, probably always will.
It got me thinking about the power of a year. Last year on my birthday I wasn't even pregnant. I had two little ones. This year, a measly 12 months later, I have another baby. Crazy! Time really flies and amazing things really happen in short periods of time.

Wonder what next years picture will look like?

MOBY style!

Look, no hands!

Adelle looks a little too comfy in this picture. As much as she is loving being the big sister, she is still the baby girl.
Like in this picture she's saying, "sissy's turn." Emmett is snug as a bug!
The MOBY is so "handy." I can hold Emmett while holding Adelle and still have a free arm to do whatever I want.
I can see him and talk to him....
I can bend over...this is easier to do without holding sis...
I can push the kids on the swings, while holding Emmett in the MOBY. Even if it's a little chilly out he is still warm and cozy.
Emmett loves his MOBY! The bouncy chair is sooo out-done. (but it works well for pictures).

Back in June I was planning a baby shower for my friend Cassie. I too, was pregnant, but not really telling everyone just yet. Our family knew and our kids knew but we hadn't told friends and neighbors as of yet (no reason, just a little shocked ourselves....happy, but shocked). So I'm talking to my friend Shelby on the phone and telling her the date of the shower so that she could plan on coming up from Oregon to attend. She excitedly announces to me that she will attend and that she has this incredible gift to make and give to Cassie. So I ask what it is and she says a MOBY.
No way, I have always wanted a MOBI and never had one! I have two other kids that I'm going to need to still take care of so I need a MOBY! I really want one! I really want Shelby to make ME one!
That is what I was thinking when she told me she was making a MOBY for Cassie. So, I had no choice. If I wanted one, which I did, really badly, it was time to tell the news. I don't remember what I said but something like, "ok, so I have to tell you something. I'm totally pregnant and I really want a MOBY."
It worked! Shelby was so thrilled and when she came up for the shower in July, Cassie and I both got MOBYs.
Thanks Shelbs!
We all love the MOBY!
