20 weeks down....

So I am officially on my 21st week of Pregnancy! Wow, time is flying this time around. I know I said that with Adelle too, but this time I really mean it. I can't believe in 4 short months we will meet the newest member of our family.
We are so excited!
We had our ultrasound last week and hid our eyes so we are still in the unknown about the baby's gender. It's so fun. I am so not into surprises at all but this surprise has been really exciting. I am still thinking/feeling boy...like I have been all along but I had a dream the other night that our baby was a girl so....we will see? My dreams have been freaky lately so I am not set on the girl dream as reality. I also dreamt that I had a vasectomy one night. What?
Jeff and both kids joined me for the ultrasound. Braxton has been really curious this time around so we thought it would be fun to have him there. Adelle got to come too, just to feel complete I guess. I think Adelle saw the baby and I think it has caused a little sibling rivalry. She has always been such a free spirited, independent little lady and since the ultrasound she's been way clingy. I think this has to do more with her age...but it makes for interesting thoughts/ideas.
"Addy-Bell...you are still momma's girl and I love you always!"
Baby is 13 ounces and everything looks good! I am officially out of denial and wearing maternity jeans as of yesterday! The regular jeans just aren't as cute when you are squishing out of them in every direction.

The Expert

This morning the kids played together in Braxton's room while I showered. When I got out of the shower Adelle had a dirty diaper. I grabbed a diaper and wipes and went into Braxton's room to change her. I asked her if she went "poopew" and she nodded. Then I told her it was time to "change britches." She ran away. This continued a couple more times. Then my handy dandy assistant, Braxton, stepped in.
Braxton to Adelle, "Sis, when mom says to change poopew you just are supposed to do it. That is how we obey and then we are happy. Right mom?"
It was pretty classic.
Thanks Braxton for your three year old expertise!

We love our Visitors!

Jeff's brother, Andrew, and his wife, Rachel, came to visit us last week. The weather was really cloudy for the most part but we had such a good time with them and our kids are in love with them!
We took them to the bay to do some crabbing and to Marine Park for a picnic. Braxton is so funny. I didn't realize it at the time but in every picture he is right by either Andrew or Rachel. So cute.
I love this picture. The ladies man loves his Auntie.
Adelle got her share too.
There were lots of games and competitions. Rachel and I dominated T-ball the first night they were here. Then there was football, pretend wake-boarding on the sled in the backyard....
lots of catch....
and a little dodge ball. The evenings were mostly spent in the backyard entertaining ourselves.
Adelle and I waited on the beach while everyone else went out on the boat. It was a little too chilly for "us." Braxton wouldn't be kept from the boat, of course.
I love this picture of this cute couple from behind. Off into the deep sea they go, hand in hand.
Thanks for coming guys. We love you and had a great time making North westerner's out of you!

i love you

Happy 6 year Anniversary!
My parents had the kids all day last Saturday so that we could celebrate our Anniversary (which is actually tomorrow).
We had such a beautiful day. We took my dad's boat out on the bay to do some crabbing. It was warm on the shore, but windy and cool on the boat. It was a great ride and we got 3 crabs.
I figured that symbolized our 3 kids....not that they are crabby. We brought the boat in and found a spot on the beach to cook up the crab and lay out in the sun. It was so relaxing!
Jeff was really proud of this huge crab we got. It was the biggest crab either of us had ever seen. We cooked it up and ate it. It was delicious.

We finished off the day with dinner on the deck at Anthony's and then walked downtown Bellingham and looked at all the chalk drawings from the Chalk Festival.

Then we were ready to have our reality back. We went and got our kids about 6:30pm and headed home for baths and bed.

I love my husband and our wonderful life. I love having him all to myself for an afternoon. Most of all I love being a family with him.

Oh and this is a true story from the day I had to share. We are sitting on the deck at dinner, overlooking the beautiful harbor and eating our over-priced meal and I say to Jeff, "Where is the best place we've ever eaten?" Without hesitation he claims, "in our kitchen." It was so sweet. I laughed because he is so stinkin' smooth sometimes and he always knows the right thing to say at the right time.
