rain

the rain is out bouncing on our trampoline
literally, hitting it hard and then splattering up
the kids are tucked in
snoozing to a rainy lullaby
the dog laying beside me
her on the floor
me on the couch
pitter pat

i really love the sound of the rain
i'm trying to read my book
the rain is putting me to sleep
softly
now the rain is making me have to go to the bathroom
i could listen to this sound all day
